Memorandum of Agreement: Research on Microplastic Biofilm Formation and Its Co-Contaminated Toxic Effects on Marine Organisms in the Bay of Bengal

          The Centre for Ocean Research at Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, located in Chennai, the capital city of Tamil Nadu, southern India, in collaboration with the Faculty of Natural Resources, Prince of Songkla University, has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) for the research project titled “Studies on Microplastic-Biofilm Formation and Its Co-Contaminated Effects on the Marine Environment.”

          This research project is conducted under the BIMSTEC-INDIA MARINE RESEARCH NETWORK (BIMReN) TWINNING RESEARCH PROJECT GRANT, which is funded by the Government of India. The signing ceremony was officiated by Dr. B. Sheela Rani, Research Director of the Centre for Ocean Research, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chaiyawan Wattanachant, Dean of the Faculty of Natural Resources, with administrators and researchers from both institutions serving as witnesses.

          The research team from the Faculty of Natural Resources includes: Asst. Prof. Dr. Eknarin Rodcharoen, Dr. Pornpimon Chueaduangphui from the Department of Aquatic Science and Innovation Management.The signing ceremony took place on March 4, 2025, at the Faculty of Natural Resources, Prince of Songkla University.
