The Faculty of Natural Resources is an integral part of Prince of Songkla University, one of the best research universities in the region. With increasing challenge of the twenty-first century, it recognizes graduate education as crucial for propelling and sustaining the wheel of research excellence, and as such, has generously supported graduate studies at all levels. Moving graduate education towards internationalization reflects the Faculty’s commitment to global standards of excellence and research networking, which resonates well with the strategic direction of Prince of Songkla University. In order to expand academic collaboration, the Faculty of Natural Resources has established “The Graduate Scholarship Program for students from Neighboring Countries” starting from the year 2022. This two year scholarship program is intended to provide education at M.Sc. level to students from Kingdom of Cambodia.

Provisions and Terms:
Each scholarship covers full tuition fees, health insurance, accommodation, and living expenses as per Thai standards for 2 years and round trip air tickets to PSU. The full-time Master’s Program funding covers a period of four semesters (24 months). The currently supported programs are Master’s Programs in the fields listed below.

The students who receive the scholarship must join the language and cultural exchange activities with the students of Faculty of Natural Resources.

Two scholarships

Eligibility of Applicants:

  1. These scholarships are only for exceptional students with high commitment to work and study in the listed fields, and will return to their home after graduation.
  2. Applicants must have completed Bachelor’s Degrees in related fields.
  3. Applicants must have a grade point average before applying of not lower than 3.00 (of 4.00 scale) for undergraduate.
  4. Applicants must have a good command of English. A minimum TOEFL score of 500 paper-based or 173 computer-based or IELTS score of 5.0 taken within two years before the application date is required.
  5. Applicants must be in good health.
  6. Applicants must not be recipients of other types of scholarships.

Documents Required for Application:

  1. Completed application form with two photographs (3 x 4 cm) taken within the past 6 months.
  2. Curriculum Vitae.
  3. Certificate of Graduation of a Bachelor’s Degree (original, not photocopied).
  4. Transcript of Academic Record of the last educational institution attended (original, not photocopied).
  5. Photocopy of passport.
  6. Three recommendation letters, one from the Dean of the Faculty and another from the Head of the Department from which the applicant graduated (original, not photocopied) and the third recommendation letter from an advisor or a faculty member who could assess the applicant’s performance may be added.
  7. Physical examination certificate from a hospital in the applicant’s home country.

Please note

  1. Any documents received after the deadline or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
  2. Original documents written in another language than English must be accompanied by English translations, certified by a public institution or the university issuing the original documents.
  3. The submitted documents will not be returned under any conditions.
  4. The scholarship period cannot be extended.
  5. The recipients of these scholarships are not permitted to accept any employment in Thailand during the term of their scholarships.
  6. The recipients of these scholarships are not permitted to bring any family members with them.
  7. The recipients of these scholarships are not permitted to postpone the scholarship acceptance as proposed by the Faculty of Natural Resources, Prince of Songkla University.
  8. The recipients of these scholarships must send their study reports to the Office of Graduate Studies, Faculty of Natural Resources, Prince of Songkla University at the end of every semester.
Suspension and Termination of Scholarships:
These scholarships will be suspended or terminated for the following reasons:
  1. Serious illness of recipients.
    The recipient is deemed to be seriously ill and not physically fit to carry on with his/her studies.
  2. Poor study records or with unsatisfied progress on thesis research.
    The recipient’s cumulative grade point average in any semester is lower than 3.00 or satisfactory progress of thesis work.
  3. Absence of the recipient without notice or reasonable explanation.
    The recipient is absent for over 15 days during the semester, or over 30 days during semester breaks, without the consent of his/her academic advisor. Exceptions may be granted only in very special circumstances, that must not impede the recipient’s academic progress, and only by the Department in which the student enrolled.
